    1. Sample 25 and 27 both seem to have black and white layers but they are not the same type of rock.  What is the feature in sample 27 that shows this?
    2. Sample 28 has small, red minerals in it.  They are gemstones used in jewelry (though these samples are not valuable).  What do you think they are?
    3. Look at all the samples that have a foliated texture.  Which sample(s) have expereinced the most heat and pressure?
    4. Which is your favorite metamorphic rock and why?

    1. Classifying Sedimentary Rocks Lab - sw: lab questions:
      1. Sample #15 is made up of lots of tiny pieces.  What are the tiny pieces?
      2. How do you think the tiny pieces in sample #15 got made into a rock?
      3. Sample 17 is very distinctive.  What is it made of?  How do you think it formed?
      4. Sample 16 has little rocks in it.  Are they rounded or angular?
      5. How do you think sample 16 formed?
      6. The white rock on my desk has fossils in it.  What type of fossils are they?
      7. The white rock came from Nevada, which is a desert today.  What can we say about the geologic history of the part of Nevada where the rock came from?
